Policies & safeguarding

Children's welfare comes first at Springboard. We aim to provide a safe, positive and child-centred environment in which every child is treated with dignity and respect.

• Anyone working with children must meet Springboard's recruitment, vetting and safeguarding requirements before coaching.
• Classes are planned and supervised with children's ages, abilities and individual needs in mind.
• Coaches follow clear professional boundaries and a code of conduct.
• Any concern about a child's safety or welfare is recorded and handled in line with Children First guidance and the appropriate reporting procedures.

Parents or guardians can raise a safeguarding concern confidentially by emailing hello@springboardkids.ie. Springboard's full Child Safeguarding Statement and risk assessment are available to parents and guardians on request and will be displayed at the class venue.

Parents and guardians should tell us about any medical condition, injury, allergy, additional need or other information that could affect their child's safe participation. Coaches may adapt an activity or ask a child to sit it out where this is the safest option.

Children should wear comfortable sports clothing, have long hair tied back and remove jewellery before class. A labelled water bottle is recommended.

Children remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian until handed over to a coach at the start of class. They must be collected promptly by the nominated adult at the end of class.

Parents and guardians should let Springboard know in advance if another adult will collect their child. Children will not be released to an unknown person without confirmation.

For some classes, Springboard may be able to collect enrolled children from the school's afterschool service and accompany them to their Springboard class. This is an optional additional service, is subject to availability and must be arranged with us in advance.

Parents or guardians must first enrol their child in the appropriate class and then email hello@springboardkids.ie to request afterschool collection. They must also confirm whether they will collect their child directly from Springboard after class or whether the child should be returned to the afterschool service.

Collection at a particular time cannot always be guaranteed. If a class is cancelled, families will receive a notification and no afterschool collection will take place. Parents and guardians remain responsible for ensuring that the afterschool service is aware of the agreed arrangements and any changes.

Please keep children at home if they are unwell, contagious or unable to take part safely.

Where a class must be changed or cancelled by Springboard, families will be contacted using the details provided at booking.

Springboard will not use an identifiable image or video of a child for promotional purposes without the appropriate parent or guardian permission. Consent can be withdrawn for future use by contacting us.

Parents and visitors should not photograph or record other children during classes without permission. Personal information is collected only where needed to manage bookings, communicate with families and deliver classes safely.

Places are confirmed through the online booking system and are subject to availability. The price, term dates and any booking-specific cancellation or refund conditions will be shown before payment.

Springboard is a welcoming, encouraging space. Children, parents, guardians and coaches are expected to treat one another respectfully. Behaviour that puts a child or another person at risk will be addressed promptly and sensitively.
